About The Project

As part of the "Our Water Our Future: The Next Stage" of the Government’s Water Plan, the Victorian Government is developing Australia’s largest desalination plant near Wonthaggi to produce drinking water from seawater. The Victorian Desalination Project will deliver one of the largest reverse-osmosis desalination plants in the world, capable of supplying up to 150 billion litres of water a year - more than a third of Melbourne’s annual water needs and ensuring drinking water is available even in times of drought.

AquaSure has contracted the Thiess Degrémont Joint Venture to construct the Victorian Desalination Project. PB and Beca have formed a joint venture to deliver engineering design services to the Thiess Degrémont Joint Venture for this project.
